To the north the great sandy beaches of Versilia host hundreds of thousands of swimmers every year, turning the coastal towns in real temples of fun and relax. To the south the colours and scents of the Mediterranean maquis are the backdrop for beautiful bays and coves hidden by towering cliffs. Here lies the Maremma, an area that conserve the unspoilt nature of the Mediterranean basin. In the midst of the sea , off the coast , lie the islands of the archipelago, the jewels of Tuscany landscapes. Among these , the Island of Elba stands out for its wild character and for its white sandy beaches with crystal clear water .
